Cookie Policy

How AiSignal uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you control them.

Effective: June 30, 2026

1. Introduction

At AiSignal we are committed to transparency in how we collect, store and use data to enhance user experience and improve our services. This policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and why they are important in delivering a seamless and personalised experience when using our service.

Cookies play a crucial role in optimising website functionality, improving security, analysing user behaviour and personalising content. By understanding how and when cookies are used, customers and visitors can make informed decisions about their data preferences.

This Cookie Policy applies to all websites, web applications and digital services operated by AiSignal that link to or reference it, including ai-signal.eu and all associated subdomains. It covers cookies placed directly by AiSignal as well as cookies placed by third parties on our behalf.

2. What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files that we send to your browser and that your browser stores on your device. These files enable various features of the service, allowing for a smoother and more personalised experience.

There are two main types:

  • Session cookies exist only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close it. They are useful for short-term preferences and login sessions.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device until they expire or you manually delete them. They retain preferences, recognise returning users and improve functionality over time.

We also use related technologies — web beacons, local storage, mobile-SDK identifiers — that are subject to the same rules in this policy. References to “cookies” in this document encompass all of these technologies.

3. How does AiSignal use cookies?

AiSignal uses cookies for authentication, personalisation, analytics and security. Some cookies are linked to your account and help us remember your login state; others are anonymous and exist purely to make the service feel responsive.

  • Essential cookies — necessary for the operation of the service: authentication, security, accessibility. Without them, you cannot stay logged in or submit forms.
  • Performance & analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors interact with AiSignal so we can improve navigation, load speeds and overall usability.
  • Functionality cookies — remember your preferences (language, theme, locale) so you don't reconfigure them every visit.
  • Targeting & advertising cookies — when applicable, help us measure marketing campaigns and (with your consent) deliver more relevant ads.

AiSignal operates with a principle of data minimisation: we set cookies only when they are necessary for a specific purpose. Cookie usage is reviewed by our privacy and product teams at least quarterly.

4. Categories of use

Authentication

When you sign into the service, cookies verify your identity, maintain session continuity across tabs, personalise the experience and enforce account-level access controls. Without authentication cookies, you would be required to log in repeatedly and certain personalised features would not function correctly.

Security

AiSignal uses cookies to enable multi-factor authentication and session verification, detect malicious activity (unauthorised logins, fraudulent transactions), implement CSRF protection on every form submission, and enforce secure session expiry. These cookies are critical to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of your data.

Preferences, features and services

Cookies remember your language, time zone, theme, dashboard layout, notification preferences and form-autofill data so you don't reconfigure them every visit.

Performance, analytics and research

AiSignal uses cookies to monitor performance (load times, responsiveness), track aggregated user behaviour (feature adoption, drop-off points) and identify bugs. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users by name or email address.

5. First-party vs. third-party cookies

First-party cookies are set directly by AiSignal (the ai-signal.eu domain). We control these and use them only for the purposes described in this policy. We never sell or share first-party cookie data with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

Third-party cookies are set by domains other than ai-signal.eu — typically by trusted service providers (analytics, payments, security). These cookies are governed by the privacy policies of the respective third parties; the inventory in Appendix B lists every provider currently in scope.

6. Cookie lifespan

  • Session cookies exist only during your current browser session.
  • Short-term persistent cookies (1–7 days) — remembering your consent decision, “remember me” login.
  • Medium-term (30–90 days) — language preference, marketing-attribution window, short-term analytics continuity.
  • Long-term (6 months – 2 years) — recognising returning visitors, long-term anonymised analytics IDs. We never set a single cookie with a lifespan longer than 24 months.

7. Managing cookies

You can manage cookies through:

  • The AiSignal Cookie Manager (accessible from the footer of any page on this site).
  • Your browser settings — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera and mobile browsers all expose granular cookie controls in their privacy menus.
  • Third-party advertising opt-outs — Google Ads (ads.google.com/home/tools/ads-preferences), Meta (facebook.com/ads/preferences).

One-click clear, per browser

  • Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → tick Cookies and other site data.
  • Safari — Safari menu → Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All. On iOS: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
  • Edge — Settings → Privacy, search and services → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
  • Brave / Opera / Vivaldi — same path as Chrome under Settings → Privacy.

Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled — without them you cannot log in, submit forms or use any authenticated feature.

AiSignal relies on different legal bases depending on the type of cookie:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — legitimate interest or contract performance. No consent required.
  • Analytics, functionality, advertising — explicit consent through our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time without losing access to core features.

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser transmits a GPC signal indicating that you do not want your personal information sold or shared, we treat this as a valid opt-out of advertising and tracking cookies for your session.

For California residents, placing advertising and tracking cookies that share data with third parties may constitute a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law. You have the right to opt out at any time through the Cookie Manager or by emailing [email protected].

9. Do Not Track signals

AiSignal does not collect personal information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites, so DNT signals do not materially apply. We do, however, honour the Global Privacy Control signal described above.

10. Cookies and children's privacy

AiSignal is designed for business and professional use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16 (under 13 in the United States under COPPA). If you believe your child has accessed AiSignal, contact [email protected].

11. Security of cookies

All authentication and session cookies are marked Secure (HTTPS only), HttpOnly (not readable from client-side JavaScript) and SameSite=Lax (CSRF protection). Sensitive cookies are cryptographically signed; tampered values are rejected on the server.

12. Changes to this policy

We reserve the right to update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements or our practices. Material changes are announced through a banner on the website or an email to your registered address. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.

13. Contact

For questions or requests related to our use of cookies — including data subject access requests under GDPR, CCPA or other laws — contact [email protected] with the subject “Cookie Policy Inquiry”. We respond within five business days.
